Car Andres

ʔəy̓ sweyəl kʷθə nə si:y̓ey̓ə!

My name is Car (they/them/theirs), and I am a two-spirit indigenous/european beadwork artist, signer, and educator from q̓ic̓əy̓ First Nation. I am currently working as an Aboriginal Support Worker in the Langley School District; sharing traditional teachings, songs/drumming, art, and the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language. I am also mentoring under my mother, Deanna, to further expand my knowledge on traditional plant medicines.

In my spare time I focus on beadwork, weaving, and illustration, originally with the intention to help manage my ADHD. I created xʷəlməxʷ Creations as a way to share my work. Each beadwork I make is handwoven with good intentions and is one of a kind.
